<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial graphite for a negative electrode of a lithium-ion secondary battery, which is useful for achieving both a high energy density and high charge/discharge rates at high levels in a lithium-ion secondary battery, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The artificial graphite for the negative electrode of the lithium-ion secondary battery has a crystallite size Lc in the c axis direction, obtained by X-ray diffractometry, of 60 to 120 nm, and has a crystallite size Lc of ≥150 nm when a graphitization treatment under an inert gas atmosphere at 3,000°C is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
