<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device that makes it possible to surely request rescue and leads to further sure safety confirmation by achieving longtime standby even after the rescue request. <P>SOLUTION: When a communication part 51 receives an emergency call (a broadcast SMS), a control part 58 extracts time information specified from the received emergency call. When reaching the specified time, the control part allows a display part 56 to display a safety confirmation message.
