The system has a coupling device attached to a motor vehicle and provided with a transformer part. Electricity is transferred to a vehicle-sided transformer part by the transformer part. The vehicle-sided transformer part is arranged behind a number plate (3) of the motor vehicle, where the number plate is made of an electrically non-conductive material such as plastic. The number plate comprises magnetically conductive areas (4) that are filled with ferromagnetic materials. A contact surface of the coupling device is attached to an outer surface of the number plate.
