An electrochemical system comprises: - an electrochemical device (20) comprising: a stack (20) of elementary electrochemical cells each comprising an electrolyte interposed between a cathode and an anode; conduits for supplying (52, 54) gas to the anodes and the cathodes and for collecting (56, 58) the gases produced by same; - an enclosure (60) in which the electrochemical device (20) is housed and comprising at least one inlet conduit (62) and one outlet conduit (64) so as to make a flow of air circulate inside the enclosure (60); and - a circuit (68) for analysing the air in the enclosure (60) comprising: a sensor (74) capable of measuring an oxygen level Tl present in the outlet conduit (64) of the enclosure (60); and an analysis module (76) capable of diagnosing a leak in the device (20) when the measured oxygen level Tl differs from a predefined oxygen level To in the inlet conduit (62) of the enclosure.
