Disclosed herein is a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing aphthous stomatitis, the composition containing: as probiotics, one or more microorganisms of Streptococcus salivarius and Veillonella dispar; and/or an aminoglycoside-based antibiotic. Disclosed herein is also a composition for diagnosing recurrent aphthous stomatitis, the composition containing a material for detecting Acinetobacter johnsonii, Streptococcus salivarius, and Veillonella dispar, and disclosed is a method for determining the recurrence of aphthous stomatitis using the amounts of Acinetobacter johnsonii, Streptococcus salivarius, and Veillonella dispar.
