In order to reduce the effort required to transmit communication messages (MN, MN') and to reduce the administrative effort arising therefrom in an entity transmitting said communication messages with a view to delivering multimedia messages (MM) to telecommunication devices (ADE) configured as multimedia message sinks irrespective of the multimediality thereof, a multimedia message service center (MMSC) - which is responsible for sending the communication messages with a view to delivering said multimedia messages (MM) - transmits first communication information (BCI) in a communication message (MN'), said information being preferably binary coded, in addition to second communication information (TI), which is preferably embodied in the form of text information, in a uniform manner to telecommunication devices (ADE) which are distinctively different in terms of multimediality.
