The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for transmitting a wireless power, and more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for transmitting a wireless power which rapidly and accurately amplify a transmission power so as to transmit a desired power. According to an aspect of the present invention, the apparatus for transmitting a wireless power which transmits a wireless power by using a magnetic field, comprises: an oscillator which oscillates a specific frequency power; an amplifier which includes an amplification circuit, a sensor, a digital controller, and an analog controller; and a transmission antenna which radiates the magnetic field by using the transmission power. The amplification circuit adjusts an amplification ratio according to a digital control signal and an analog control signal and outputs the transmission power by amplifying the specific frequency power in the amplification ratio. The sensor detects a voltage value or a current value of the transmission power. The digital controller compares a detection result of the sensor with a size of a reference value and outputs the digital control signal according to the comparison result. The digital controller also generates an analog control start signal when an adjustment of the amplification ratio has finished according to the digital control signal. The analog controller is activated by the analog control start signal and outputs the analog control signal based on the detection result of the sensor and a difference of the reference value.
