PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker which can lock a handle at an ON position automatically only by making the handle rotate to the ON position. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker includes a locking part 12 formed on the body 10 of the handle 2, a handle locking member 15 locked in the state that the locking part 12 can override and the locking part 12 overrides when the handle 2 is disposed in the form opposed to the body 10 and urged in the direction of the body 10 and rotated from an OFF position to the ON position, a releasing member 16 disposed operably out of a device body 1 to drive the handle locking member 15 in the direction for releasing the locking state of the locking part 12 against the urging force of the handle locking member 15, and a drive part 50 provided in a tripping member 39 to drive the handle locking member 15 in the direction of releasing the locking state with the locking part 12 against the urging force of the handle locking member 15.
