PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for detecting an engagement from the front of a hood part. SOLUTION: When a female housing 10 is engaged with the hood part 44 of a male housing 40, in starting of the engagement, a lock part 42 made of metal is hidden by a lock receptacle part 12 as seen from the front of the hood part 44. When the engagement is advanced and the lock part 42 overrides the lock receptacle part 12 while the lock part 42 is being bent and deformed, the locking part 42 is locked to the lock receptacle part 12 and appears visibly from the front of the hood part 44. Therefore, it can be detected by viewing the lock part 42 from the front of the hood part 44 that it is in the state that both housings 10 and 40 are in a regular engaging state.
