PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce resistance feeling when a cartridge is inserted into a holder. SOLUTION: A cartridge housing apparatus is provided with the holder 4 to which the cartridge 6 is inserted and a chassis 5 pivotally supporting a base end part of the holder 4, the holder is energized in the direction of closing, a door body 1 is pivotally supported at a free end part of the holder 4, the door body 1 is provided with an abutting plane positioned at a cartridge discharge side for the pivotaly supporting part 1a and tilting for a cartridge insertion direction, and a kicking out piece 12 arranged at a cartridge insertion side for the pivotally supporting part 1a and being in contact with the chassis 5 at the time of rise of the holder 4, and the door body 1 is energized by a spring in the direction that the abutting plane closes an opening of the holder 4. A vertical plate 210 which opens further the door body 1 being in contact with the kicking out piece 12 at a position at which the holder 4 is opened keeping a door opening position of the door body 1 and separates the abutting plane from an upper plane of the cartridge 6 is provided in the chassis 5.
