摘要 A medical instrument is provided to improve accuracy in obtaining characteristic information of a desired part in a subject. A medical instrument includes a light irradiating device(4,52f,52a,53a,21b,22e1), a light detecting device(22g2,22e2,21c,53b), a support device(22h,59,22f1,22f2), and a sound wave emitting device(22d,7). The light irradiating device has a light irradiating unit(22g1) to irradiate light to an inspection part of a subject. The light detecting device has a light detecting unit to detect the light which is irradiated from the light irradiating device and transmitted through the inspection part of the subject. The support device supports the light irradiating unit and the light detecting unit to face each other while interposing the inspection part of the subject. The sound wave emitting device has a sound wave emitting unit which emits a sound wave to the inspection part of the subject in a direction different from an irradiation direction of the light irradiated from the light irradiating unit to modulate the irradiated light.
