A timing controller, a display apparatus having the same, and a method for generating signals of the display apparatus are provided to enhance the reliability of the display apparatus by generating normal internal clock signals regardless of ESD(Electro Static Discharge). A display apparatus includes a first memory(800), a timing controller(600), and a display unit. The first memory stores signal generation information. The timing controller receives an external clock signal, generates an internal clock signal according to the signal generation information, reads the signal generation information repeatedly when the internal clock signal is abnormal, and generates and outputs the internal clock signal according to the read signal generation information. The display unit displays images by receiving the internal clock signal.
