The method involves forming a planar base structure (1) e.g. fabric (4), from multiple linear structures i.e. threads (3), and smoothing the planar base structure under the effect of pressure and heat. The planar base structure is formed partially from deformable threads (7). The deformable threads are formed from a polymer material and polymer compound. The deformable threads are made of a component that contains a single polymer and copolymer of polyester and single polymer and copolymer of polyamide, and another component that contains polyolefin, polyamide or fluoropolymer.
