<p>Cold-box process for producing feeders, molds, gating systems or cores comprises contacting a composition comprising molding mixture and binder system in a tool to form feeders, molds, gating systems or cores; contacting the unhardened feeders, molds, gating systems or cores with a hardening catalyst containing water or a mixture of water and amine to obtain hardened feeders, molds, gating systems or cores and removing feeders, molds, gating systems or cores from the tool. Cold-box process for producing feeders, molds, gating systems or cores comprises contacting a composition comprising molding mixture and binder system in a tool to form feeders, molds, gating systems or cores; contacting the unhardened feeders, molds, gating systems or cores with a hardening catalyst containing water or a mixture of water and amine to obtain hardened feeders, molds, gating systems or cores; and removing feeders, molds, gating systems or cores from the tool; where the binder system contains at least a polyisocyanate having at least two isocyanate groups; a component, preferably glycerin ester comprising at least two hydroxyl group per molecule; a crude oil of plant or animal origin and/or pressed residues, which is obtained in the preparation of plant oil or residues, which is obtained in the extraction of animal oils; a polyol comprising at least two hydroxyl groups per molecule, and comprising monosaccharide, disaccharide, oligosaccharide, polysaccharide and/or its derivative; and/or a polyol comprising at least two hydroxyl group. Independent claims are included for: (1) the feeders, molds, gating systems or cores, obtained by the above process; and (2) use of the feeders, molds, gating systems or cores for molding a metal part comprising contacting the feeders, molds, gating systems or cores into a molding array; molding the metals in the liquid condition, in the molding array; cooling the metal for hardening; and separating the metal mold form the molding array.</p> |
