A tyre deflation round, e.g. for use in a shotgun, is disclosed and comprises a substantially cup shaped base 1 housing a propulsive charge 4, a cap or primer 3, and a substantially cylindrical case 2 housing a projectile 7. In accordance with the invention, the projectile 7 comprises vividly coloured material e.g. a fluorescent powder. The projectile 7 is able to penetrate a vehicle tyre, but disintegrates after impact. Air escaping the tyre disperses the material of the disintegrated projectile to form a visible cloud indicative of successful penetration of the tyre. The material may be a powder, a semi-solid frangible material, or a liquid. The tyre deflation round may have a clear case 2 such that the projectile 7 can be seen through it. The tyre deflation round may further comprise a material that is an irritant. |
