PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system equipped with a focusing optical system capable of easily focusing with a simple constitution, dispensing with a mechanically complicated configuration for adjusting a pupil position, and to provide a laser microscope using the optical system. SOLUTION: At least one of lens optical systems constituting the optical system is the focusing optical system 4 including two lens groups, that is, a fixed group 13 fixedly positioned in an optical axis direction, and a moving group 12 arranged ahead of the fixed group 13 and made movable in the optical axis direction, and wherein an incident pupil position is set to be positioned more ahead of the front focus position of the moving group, as long as the focal length of the moving group.
