<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of improving recording quality by stably performing OPC, and a recording method on a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The recording device includes a recording means 20 for recording data on a recording medium D, a laser light source PIC for emitting a laser when data is recorded on the recording medium D, a flash memory for storing previously measured output characteristics of the laser light source PIC, and a control means 60 for controlling the recording means 20. The recording means 20 includes a selection means that performs test writing on the recording medium D to select an optimum laser power from a reproduced signal waveform of the written data when data is recorded on the recording medium. The control means 60 includes a correction means 60A that reads the output characteristics of the laser light source PIC from the flash memory FM and corrects a value of a reference laser power when the selection means 22 performs test writing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
