<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress drying up of a fuel cell even when the cell temperature during operation of the fuel cell is raised to around the boiling point of water. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell includes an electrolyte membrane 20 and a catalyst layer 30 arranged on the surface of the electrolyte membrane, and the catalyst layer 30 has pores 300, the volume of the pores 300 is 1.0-5.6 mL/m<SP>2</SP>, and the water permeability of the electrolyte membrane is greater than 0.10 mg/(min cm<SP>2</SP>kPa). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
