PURPOSE: A keep warm control device and a method of a microwave oven are provided to keep the inner temperature of foods in a cooking chamber by on/off controls of a convection heater without driving microwaves. CONSTITUTION: A keep warm control device of a microwave oven is composed of a key operation unit(11) for various cook control key inputs of the microwave oven and a control unit for controlling a cooking operation by controlling entirely the microwave oven by a key signal of the key operation unit. When a user selects a keep warm function key through the key operation unit, the keep warm is executed by on/off controls of a convection heater(18) performing a convection function. The convection heater for generating heat convection to equally cook the foods heats the inside of a cooking chamber at the predetermined temperature and keeps the temperature constant.
