PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve train for an internal combustion engine having simple construction using a wire material such as a string or a wire for connection between a rocker arm and an intake/exhaust valve while keeping its length constant (namely avoiding its slackening). SOLUTION: The valve train 13 for the internal combustion engine uses the string 23 for connection between one end of the valve closing rocker arm 21 and the end of a shaft portion 24a of the intake valve (or the exhaust valve) 24 so that the intake valve 24 is closed with the valve closing rocker arm 21 pulling one end of the string 23.
