PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hollow particles with a plurality of voids inside in a simple way without necessitating a large amount of surfactant. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing hollow particles comprising dissolving 0.5-5 pts.wt of a cellulose resin in a 100 pts.wt of a monomer mixture comprising 5-100 pts.wt of a polyfunctional polymerizable monomer and a 100 pts.wt of styrene monomer, dispersing the solution in an aqueous dispersing medium, and then polymerizing the monomer mixture.
