PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collecting container for vacuum cleaner which can securely discard all the dust retained. SOLUTION: A first rib 42 which compresses a sheet of tissue paper 40 in a capturing area 41 when closing an open surface 78 by the capturing area 41 where the tissue paper 40 is set is installed in a projected manner on an end surface of a dust collecting space 26. The end surface of the dust collecting space 26 is a flat surface 28 that forms a part of the shape of the open surface 78, thus no deep and narrow gap is formed between the first rib 42 and the dust collecting space 26. Therefore, dusts 20 retained in the dust collecting space 26 can be prevented from being stuck between the first rib 42 and the dust collecting space 26 and as a result all the dusts 20 retained in the dust collecting space 26 can be discarded.
