PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable molecule for detection, which can be used in a general-purpose modified LDL detection assay or AGE detection assay.

SOLUTION: The polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of the following amino acid sequences (1) to (3): (1) a specific amino acid sequence; (2) an amino acid sequence which has the substitution, addition and/or deletion of one or more amino acid residues at a position or positions other than position-90 and position-107 in the specific amino acid sequence and which has activity of naturally occurring LOX-1; and (3) an amino acid sequence which is encoded by a nucleotide sequence hybridizing with a nucleic acid sequence complementary to the specific nucleotide sequence under stringent conditions, in which the amino acid sequence residues located at position-90 and position-107 in the encoded amino acid sequence are the corresponding amino acid residues in the specific amino acid sequence, and which has activity of naturally occurring LOX-1.
