Abstract A compression tool, including a pair of user operable pivotable handles, a pair of compression surfaces and a drive mechanism mounted to a support structure and operable to transmit force from the handles to the compression surfaces for compressing an object between the compression surfaces, the drive mechanism including: a pair of pivotable compression members, each having one of the compression surfaces at a free end thereof and a driven end remote from the free end, the compression members being configured for synchronised rotation with respect to each other and rotatably fixed to the support structure near the free ends; and a pair of pivotable link members being configured for synchronised rotation with respect to each other and having a reaction end and a pivoted end which is rotatably fixed to the support structure, whereby the reaction end forms a fulcrum displaced by movement of the link to form a pivotable connection between the handle and the support structure; wherein each handle is pivotally connected to the driven end of a respective cutting member and to the reaction end of a respective link member, whereby pivotal movement of the handles together pivotally moves the compression surfaces together to compression an object there between. alm oMMEMEl Figure 1 14a Ab 10 17a 17b 20a 20b 18a 18b 119 24a 24b ------ ------- ------------------------ 32b 32a --------------------------------- --------- 12b 12a ---------------------------- 30a 30b 22a 22b Figure 2 |
