This rotary connector W comprises a rod-shaped rotating side electrode 20 supported by an external shell case 1 to rotate freely, and a fixed side electrode 10 supported by the external shell case 1. In this rotary connector W, the rotating side electrode 20 and the fixed side electrode 10 are disposed spaced from each other in such a manner that one extremity portion of one faces one extremity portion of the other, and a gap is formed by the one extremity portion of one and the one extremity portion of the other. This rotary connector W has a liquid impregnated member 60, which is cylindrical and disposed in such a manner as to surround the outer peripheral surface on the one extremity portion side of the fixed side electrode 10 while covering, from the outer peripheral side of the fixed side electrode 10 and the rotating side electrode 20, the gap formed between the fixed side electrode 10 and the rotating side electrode 20. The liquid impregnated member 60 is impregnated with a multivalent alcohol or a high-viscosity oil, while a liquid metal 70 is filled in a region formed by the one extremity portion of the rotating side electrode 20, the one extremity portion of the fixed side electrode 10, and the internal peripheral surface of the liquid impregnated member 60. |
