PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging control method which makes a voltage to be supplied to an electric load unlikely to be reduced when charging a power storage device with a voltage generated by an on-vehicle generator which generates power when braking a vehicle.SOLUTION: The charging control method is disclosed for a charging control apparatus 15a which comprises voltage conversion means 6 for converting a generated voltage of an on-vehicle motor 1, applying the voltage to an electric load group 13 and charging a power storage device 12. An input voltage value V1 to the voltage conversion means 6 is detected, an output voltage value V2 and an output current value I1 of the voltage conversion means 6 are detected, an input/output current value I2 of the power storage device 12 is detected, and charging from the on-vehicle generator 1 to a second power storage device 5 is controlled. A switch 4 is prepared for turning on and turning off charging to the second power storage device 5 and on the basis of I1 and I2, a current value I3 required for the electric load group 13 is calculated. On the basis of V2, V1 and I3, a current value that should be outputted from the on-vehicle generator 1 is calculated and when calculated I4 is greater than a maximum output current value of the on-vehicle generator 1, the switch 4 is turned off. |
