A bill payment system is provided to enable a bank to receive collectively bills issued by a preferential bill issuing company, so that a bill receiver can receive real bills through a nearby transactional branch. A bill detail register(200) registers bill details about a payment vicarious bill whose vicarious payment is requested, and manages a registered bill as a trust bill. A payment vicarious bill detail DB(230) stores the bill details. A bill discounting unit(210) inquires about and selects a trust bill of a receiver from the DB, and performs discounted transactions for the trust bill. If prior redemption for the discounted trust bill is requested, a prior redemption unit(220) carries out prior redemption transactions. |
