An apparatus for automatically converting a user interface and a method therefor are provided to perform the automatic conversion into a user interface such as the main screen or main menu category of a user terminal related to a specific group or person, in case persons who belong to the group or the person is or are located within a short-distance communication available range. A controller checks whether a Bluetooth service request is received or not(202) while maintaining the standby state(200). If so, the controller searches Bluetooth terminals(204), and then checks whether a Bluetooth terminal, corresponding to an ID set for automatic authentication, exists in the searched result(206). If so, the controller automatically authenticates the Bluetooth terminal having the ID(208). The controller checks whether two or more Bluetooth terminals in which terminal user interface configuring information is set exist in the searched result(212). If so, the controller displays the IDs of two or more Bluetooth terminals(214), and then reflects the UI configuring information of a Bluetooth terminal selected by a user to the UI of the current terminal(218).
