PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precipitation tank having excellent precipitation separation characteristics for the solid contents though having a polygonal plane shape. SOLUTION: Raw water is fed to the feed well 22, flows from the bottom surface 21e mainly along the inside wall surfaces 21a and 21d of the tank, overflows the overflow weir 25 and is discharged from the clear water discharge pipe 26. Raw water is subjected efficiently to a precipitation separation treatment through flowing between inclined plates 24a and 24b while flowing along the inside wall surfaces 21a to 21d. Raw water flowing on the left-half side of the inside wall surfaces 21a to 21d is guided to the central sides, or centers of the sides, in the right and left directions by the inclined plate 24a arranged on the left-half side, and raw water flowing on the right-half side is guided to the centers of the sides in the inside wall surface by the inclined plate 24b, leading to control of deterioration of precipitation separation characteristics due to a rising flow occurring more predominately in corners than in centers of the sides of the tank 21.
