<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus adopting a single-plate system and capable of reducing a manufacturing cost while achieving miniaturization of a display element which is equivalent to a case adopting a three-plate system and while maintaining the quality of a display image which is equivalent to that of the three-plate system. <P>SOLUTION: The display apparatus is provided with: a light source 1; a color filter 2 for decomposing illumination light from the light source 1 into at least three primary color components R, G, B; a reflection type liquid crystal display device 6 illuminated by the primary color light through the color filter 2 to modulate the illumination light according to supplied image data; and a projection lens 7 for forming an image of the illumination light through the reflection type liquid crystal display device 6. The color filter 2 simultaneously makes respective primary color light components R, G, B incident on respectively different pixels 6a in the reflection type liquid crystal display device 6 and successively makes all primary color light components R, G, B incident on respective pixels 6a within one frame period of image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
