When a function expansion device has setting information for connecting the function expansion device to an information processing device and an external storage device, after the function expansion device is replaced, the setting information can be easily restored into a function expansion device after replacement. The setting information stored in a first storage of the function expansion device is stored also in a second storage replaceable with a connection module. Then, after the function expansion device is replaced, a connection module of the function expansion device after replacement is replaced by the second storage to obtain the setting information.
