PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous process for forming a multilayer film.SOLUTION: The continuous self-measurement process for forming a multilayer film 20 having at least two superimposed polymer layers includes the step of supplying a base material 2, the step of providing two or more coating knives 18 so as to form a gap vertical to the surface of the base material 2, the step of moving the base material in a downstream direction with respect to the coating knife, the step of supplying a polymer curable liquid precursor 10 to the upstream side of the coating knife to coat the base material with precursor as a superimposed layer through each gap, and the step of supplying one or more solid films 14 and applying and curing these films substantially simultaneously with the formation of an adjacent lower polymer layer. Each lower layer of the polymer curable liquid precursor is covered with an upper layer adjacent to the polymer curable liquid precursor or the film without being substantially exposed, and the flow rate of the polymer curable liquid precursor is self-measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
