PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine system and a saddle type vehicle capable of properly starting an engine regardless of a state of the engine.SOLUTION: A current is supplied under a first duty ratio to a rotary motor 30 so as to cause a crank shaft 13 to be initially rotated in a reverse direction before ignition of mixture gas when an engine 10 is started. BY rotation of the crank shaft 13, a rotation angle of the crank shaft 13 is detected. When the detected rotation angle becomes a switching angle, a duty ratio of current supplied to the rotary motor 30 is switched from the first duty ratio to a second duty ratio lower than the first duty ratio. With this, torque of the rotary motor 30 is decreased and rotation of the crank shaft 13 in a reverse direction is stopped due to a rotation load caused by a pressure in the cylinder. When the rotation of the crank shaft 13 in a reverse direction is stopped, the crank shaft 13 rotates in a normal direction. Thereafter, the ignition of the mixture gas is performed and complete combustion in the engine 10 is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
