摘要 The present invention relates to a fault localization system using currents of a trolley wire and a feeding wire in a power feeding system for an autotransformer of an AC electric railroad, and a method thereof. The purpose of the present invention is to more accurately localize a fault point when a grounding fault and a short circuit fault occur in a power feeding system (separating power feeding system) for an alternating current electric railroad and a power feeding system (parallel power feeding system) for a high speed electric railroad. The fault localization system for achieving the purpose according to the present invention includes: a current measuring unit that measures currents a trolley wire and a feeding wire; a current ratio calculating unit that calculates current ratios between up and down lines of a trolley wire and a feeding wire of an autotransformer (AT) on the basis of the information measured by the current measuring unit; and a fault localization unit that receives information on the current ratios calculated by the current ratio calculating unit and localizes a fault point using a current ratio between autotransformers (ATs). The fault localization system according to the present invention measures a current of a trolley line, which is output from an autotransformer (AT), and a current of a feeding wire, which is input to the autotransformer, thereby achieving a very low error of fault localization.
