The present invention relates to an individual safety system based on a wearable sensor and to a method thereof. According to the present invention, the individual safety system based on the wearable sensor comprises: a detector attached on a specific part of a user and detecting a signal used for recognizing the situation of the user; and a user terminal recognizing the situation of the user by using the signal detected by the detector and previously stored standard information, and performing at least one among the transmission of a rescue request signal to a predetermined system and generation of a warning signal having location information of the user in case of an emergency.
