A rechargeable battery is disclosed. The rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly comprising a first electrode and a second electrode, an electrode terminal which is electrically connected to the electrode assembly, a case which accommodates the electrode assembly, a cap plate which is installed in the opening of the case, seals the case, has a vent hole for discharging the internal pressure of the case, and a vent hole module which includes a rupture part which seals the vent hole and is broken by the internal pressure and a buffer part which buffers a shock transmitted to the vent hole. So, the durability of the vent part can be improved. |
