The present invention pertains to an image processing device and method configured so as to make it possible to reduce delay in image data transmission. According to one aspect of the present invention, the respective partial images of a plurality of captured images obtained in mutually differing imaging units are joined to produce a single synthesized image. The exposure periods of the imaging units may be the same as each other or offset from each other, or only some of the imaging units may be offset. The present invention is applicable, e.g., to: an imaging element; an electronic device in which an imaging element is used; or a computer, system, etc., for processing image data obtained by an imaging element. |
