The body (2) of the device (1) contains a passage (3) for connecting to the slot and has a substantially rectangular cross-section at its bottom end (5) which allows a vertically oriented coin to pass through it. The top end (4) of the body has a cross-section equal to at least half the surface area of the face of an individual coin, so that the latter can be added when in a horizontal position. A means is provided for guiding the coin as it falls down the passage, so that it is rotated from the horizontal position into a vertical position.
