The application is directed to a gas permeable, oleophobic vent comprising a porous substrate and a coating composition. The coating composition preferably comprises a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and perfluromethylvinylether (PMVE). Because the vent resists penetration to water and maintains its oleophobicity even when exposed to high temperatures (>= 300C) over long periods of time, it finds particular application as an automotive gas sensor vent (10).
