PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operating efficiency of a converter by a means for shorting the average discharge time by an discharge port for molten metal subjected to refining in a converter, particularly, by an discharge port for molten metal using sleeve-shaped refractories. SOLUTION: A tapping port 1 is composed of an upper sleeve 3 mounted on lining refractories in a converter, and a lower sleeve 3 provided at the lower edge part of the upper sleeve so as to be freely attached/detached, and, in a state where the new ones are set, respectively, the conditions before use are shown. The upper sleeve 2 is composed of cylindrical refractories 4 and planar refractories 5 with a nozzle hole. The lower edge part thereof is projected from the outer face 6 of the converter so as to be mounted on receiving brick 7. The cross-sectional area of the inner hole in the lower sleeve is 60 to 98% to the cross-sectional area of the inner hole on exchange after use. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
