PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pyrazolone oxonol compound which shows a vivid yellow color and a high solubility to an organic solvent. SOLUTION: The pyrazolone oxonol compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently an alkyl group or an alkyl group containing an oxygen atom as an ether bond; preferably, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently a 1-18C alkyl group or a 2-12 C alkyl group containing 1-4 oxygen atoms as ether bonds).
