This invention relates to a method for conducting a payment using a MCD, the method comprising the steps of sending a payment request from a POS device, wherein the payment request is for authorisation of payment from a purchaser to a vendor; receiving the payment request at a server; authenticating the purchaser's identity and creditworthiness at the server; if both the purchaser's identity and creditworthiness are authenticated, sending a confirmation request from the server, wherein the confirmation request is to confirm that the payment is to be made from the purchaser to the vendor; receiving the confirmation request at the MCD; and sending a confirmation message from the MCD to the server, confirming that the payment may be made. |
