PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod enabling rapid rod operation to a fish when the fish strikes by facilitating the taking off of the fishing rod, and having improved fishing operability of the fishing rod. SOLUTION: The fishing rod having a butt part held on a fishing rod-holding part 31 in a posture for waiting the fish strike is obtained by forming an engaged part to be supported by an engaging part of the fishing rod-holding tool 31 at the butt part of the fishing rod 11, and the engaged part has a rod-releasing part enabling the fishing rod 11 to be released from the engaging part of the fishing rod-holding tool 31 only by a single moving operation of the fishing rod 11.
