The sheet brake (4) has a deflection wheel, which is located downstream in a sheet conveying direction. The deflection wheel is connected with a suction connection, where a suction channel is provided. A suction plate is arranged with a brake band between the deflection wheel and a suction wheel. Lower pressure of the suction wheel and the suction plate are separately adjusted.
