The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating acetaminophen-induced liver damage, containing a peptide which is derived from a protein isolated from laver, as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the peptide which is composed of amino acid sequences represented by sequence number 1 can stand strong against heat and dryness, different from proteins which are generally susceptible to heat. In addition, the peptide can effectively suppress death of hepatocytes as well as oxidative damage on liver tissues induced by acetaminophen, thereby being useful for preventing or treating liver damage. |
