1. A memory system comprising:
a memory including a first memory chip and a second memory chip capable of holding data; and a controller controlling the memory, wherein each of the first and second memory chip includes:
string units including NAND strings, wherein memory cell transistors including a charge storage layer and a control gate are connected in series in the NAND strings; andblocks including the string units, and wherein the memory holds information for the first and second memory chips indicating a partial bad block including a bad string unit, and indicating which one of string units is the bad string unit in the partial bad block. |
