PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deformed precast concrete armor unit capable of forming a space suitable for a squid spawning environment. SOLUTION: This deformed precast concrete armor unit is set on a sea bottom comprising rocks or on a sea bottom comprising sands and gravels, and forms a low illumination space having a horizontal or low inclined ceiling, a ceiling back surface height of <=1 m from the sea bottom, and a ceiling back surface illumination of <=5 % lux based on the illumination of the peripheral sea.
