An expansion tank (1) for a cooling system in a motor vehicle engine compartment has a container, which is adapted to receive a cooling fluid, and is fixed to a support structure (7) of the engine compartment by at least one bracket (23); the bracket (23) is fixed and laterally protrudes with respect to the container and is bayonet- coupled to the support structure (7) by a first vertical downwardly directed mounting movement, to rest a wall (44) of the bracket (23) on the support structure (7), and a second mounting movement directed along a horizontal direction (37), to vertically lock the bracket (23); the bracket (23) has, in addition, at least one locking tooth (60), which is elastically deformable and is adapted to engage snap-wise a corresponding retaining seat (61) made in the support structure (7) for locking the bracket (23) along said horizontal direction (37). |
