The strip of labels (22) has an anti-adhesive carrier material (28) on the carrier side. The carrier supports printed labels (23) of a thermoplastic material, with an adhesive on the side towards the anti-adhesive carrier. Sections (62) of a thermoplastic material cover at least a part of the labels and their edges by the formation of a pocket (116), open at one side (100), through at least one welded seam (98) for bonding to the label. The welded seam forms a label edge through hot stamping.
