PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-free piezoelectric/electrostrictive sintered compact which exhibits a high distortion rate even under the application of a high electric field as well as a low electric field.SOLUTION: The piezoelectric/electrostrictive sintered compact 1 is obtained by firing a composition comprising: a first component including a first perovskite type oxide expressed by general formula (1): {Li(NaK)}(NbTaSb)O, a compound of one or more kinds of selective elements selected from a group consisting of Ba, Sr, Ca, La, Ce, Nd, Sm, Dy, Ho and Yb, and an Mn compound; a second component as a second perovskite type oxide expressed by general formula (2): {Ba(KNa)}(ZrNb)O; and a third component including Zn as the main component. The content of the third component in the sintered compact lies in a range where a different phase derived from Zn in the sintered compact is not caused, and also, the a, x, y, z, w, p and t satisfy prescribed conditions in the sintered body. |
